There aren't a lot of upsides to being caught in a political scandal in which party money was used to hold a function at a lesbian strip club. That is not to say there are no fringe benefits, but they are unforeseen. Case in point: it could indirectly court the politically-motivated porn stars to join the club.

Enter Stormy Daniels. Politico might have wrangled up the most hilarious scoop for the month. The ex-adult film actress, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, had been mulling a congressional run against Louisiana Republican senator David Vitter, but the shock to the mind is if she decides to run, she'll do so as a Republican. And she says it's all because of the "scandal."


As someone who has worked extensively in both the club and film side of the adult entertainment industry, I know from experience that a mere $1,900 outlay at a club with the reputation of Voyeur is a clear indication of a frugal investment with a keen eye toward maximum return.”

I have been a registered Democrat throughout my life. But now I cannot help but recognize that over time my libertarian values regarding both money and sex and the legal use of one for the other {are} now best espoused by the Republican Party.


Well that's fantastic. Maybe not for Republicans with traditional family values, but for the rest of us. Porn stars running for political office is like Blogger Christmas.

Well, privately they do, if by endorse, you mean solicit. But publicly it's a whole different story. I'm guessing Ms. Daniels is making this statement with her tongue firmly in her cheek, but I could be wrong. As Victoria Jackson has proved, an idiot and a parody can be rather difficult to tell apart.
