The man who murdered my co-workers daughter was found guilty today
sentenced to 35-life.

I will never forget the phone call I got from her mother trying to reach her husband when they found Julie's body...never.

1. *hugs* Does this bring any sort of closure for them?
Honestly, I can't imagine what it is like to be in their shoes. :(

3. I don't know how, but I imagine some type of closure will occur
she was missing for a month,m then they found her. Her mother had been called by CPD and warned it COULD be her. The family really felt she was dead, but when she got the confirming call...she was beyond hysterical.

I will see my coworker Friday...I went to school with him too, he will answer me if I ask him. I have known him for about 4 decades, and he is a gruff hard exterior type of guy who hides a smart wit, a large intellect, and a sensitive side he does not show often.

2. What do you say when these cases happen?
The piece of shit will rot in jail for a very long time, hopefully the rest of his life...hopefully it is some consolation for her parents.

I had a friend murdered years ago by a guy that should have never been out of prison...I have no sympathy for these criminals None.....

5. There are so many things sad about this aside from the horribly obvious
my coworker used to be a staunch anti death penalty believer...not so now.

6. I like waver on the death penalty...
because there have been innocent people found. My alternative would be to force these criminals like this to work hard labor for the rest of their lives, no tv, no gym no luxuries. Their victims didn't get the luxery to live so why should we pamper them.

For those criminals that have not committed murder maybe a different path.
