33. "Signed,sealed and delivered!"
Called the *Waxman's* DC office 3 days in a row last week to offer encouragement & support on behalf of our family. Staff said much appreciated. Go Henry! The rule of law!

(Sweet kitty avatar, BTW!)

4. congress has to vote to hold her in contempt then it goes to Alberto Gonzales
to convene a grand jury and seek indictment.

See the plan here?

28. I believe that's what someone posted re: her initial
Edited on Thu May-03-07 12:29 AM by Pierogi_Pincher
response when she was put on notice of a subpoena being issued. She thumbed her nose at that last week, now again from her ME trip. When I finally got to read her words to the reporter in this article, I went into orbit. 'These people' are deceived. No one can continually push the limits as has been done without some repercussion eventually--somewhere, somehow. I know this in my heart. My head spins from each new utterance from 'these people'. I get mad and physically sick all at once. It is a travesty that 'these people' are *representing* our government. My desire is to see the America that should be.

I don't know the ins & outs of governmental law very well, and I truly appreciate when someone contributes knowledge in this area. Thanks guys & dolls. DU is amazing! :loveya:

10. I believe that congress can take this directly to the courts.
They are not dependent on Gonzales.

12. I thought I read the Sergaent at Arms could arrest her
Of course she would then have to be tried by a U.S. Attorney.

Congress should build special secret prisons for Gonzales, Condi, Cheney and Bush

26. That's *not* actually necessary...
... There's a thing called "inherent contempt", according to which Congress can, punitively or coercively, imprison those who defy their subpoenas - independent of the executive branch.

8. Send that lying, contemptible smudge to jail.
NOW.

(Hey- were it you or me we would have already been sent there, the moment we said we "weren't inclined to appear".)

11. worthless subpoenas
It seems like the popular thing these days that you can just totally blow off a congressional subpoena. If the Dems don't come out and blast her in the media with full force then it's a pretty toothless effort. Moreover, if they don't come out against her on this then I can only assume that they're lazy or using this as some kind of precedent so we can blow off subpoenas when we're in the minority.

31. Still somewhat new at this, but here goes--"Welcome, fellow traveler!"
As you posit--'lazy', or--'to be used as a precedent'. My brain is scrambled lately. Can't take readings anymore. Just when you think you have it, it's something entirely different.

She is a citizen, isn't she? Or is she above all that in the highest reaches of the New American Monarchy?

the more they get away with, the more obvious it becomes. you'd think more people would notice or care.
