IMO one thing that may hurt Democrats

They keep talking about reducing the deficit but not once have I heard them talk about reducing the Debt. Some people in America are smart enough to understand there is a difference. We just can not continue to increase our National Debt, and the leading cause for it is Military spending...It has to be cut...I know Democrats are scared to death they will be called unpatriotic for doing so but the exact opposite is actually the truth. We can not keep spending more on defense than all other countries combined..It completely defies logic.

Is it possible to pay the debt down as long as you have deficit spending? Don't you have to solve the deficit before you begin paying down the debt?
