1. They actually think Ted Nugent is of substance...
And they freely give him air time.
I really do fear for the people who watch this garbage 24X7 and Thank God my Mom is not one of them.

2. And if violence starts, he'll shit his pants for a month so he can sit this one out too.
He only shoots at living beings that can't shoot back.

Fucking coward.

36. Not only is he a zombie, he is an ass carrot of the first order.
I really, really try my best to be a decent human being. But there are people who bring out the Neanderthal in me. Man, I would just love to kick his pathetic, skinny ass to kingdom come.

4. It speaks volumes about Faux as a "news" organization for simply asking Nugent for his opinion
...and as if that weren't enough, Cavuto didn't even try to conduct an interview and simply threw a couple of softballs at Nugent and provided him with airtime to spew his virulent nonsense. What a schmuck.

6. Fun story about meeting the Nuge
He came to Tulsa like so many other C-level music acts and set up shop in a Borders to sign copies of his latest (back then) book, "Kill It and Grill It." My girlfriend (back then) and I went to stand in line with the confused Nugent fans who were amazed at the number of books in existence that weren't written by Nugent, Limbaugh, etc. Anyway, we stood in a line that snaked all through the aisles to get his autograph on it (I was getting it for my brother-in-law who's a conservative good ol' boy as well as a hunter - both gun and bow). My ex is Colombian so we were holding a conversation in Spanish about all the hicks around us (pissing people off I might add - English Only). Anyway, Nuge signed my book (ex took my picture with me sticking my tongue out at him, something I also did with Pat Buchanan), handed it to me, and said, "Enjoy that pardner. There's a lot of wisdom in there."

I literally (not figuratively, I really did) hurt myself stifling a laugh and had to sit down once we got outside. We then went to a local restaurant and read through passages of the book like, "The point of life is to live, and if you're not living life to the fullest, you're not living."

I gave it to my brother-in-law who thanked me profusely. When I saw him again, and I asked him what he thought of it, he said, "Jamie (my first name is James, but he still calls me Jamie because he's 15 years older than I am), when I first read it, I thought it was some sort of weird drug humor that I wasn't getting until I saw him on ESPN and realized he really is that big a fucking idiot. The recipes look good though."

I just smiled.

The Nuge must be a great inspiration for kiddie konservative Jonathan Krohn:

"Now that we have finished our discussion of old school conservatism and the constitution, let's move on to the next major aspect of the conservative belief system: the life issue. The life issue is near and dear to all conservatives. Does not life keep all of us alive? If it wasn't for life would we not surely be dead? Conservatives believe that life is something that everyone should have."

24. There was a good mini-article in the Onion
Entitled, "Ted Nugent Really Does Talk That Way."

It concerned his going into JC Penney to buy socks and when asked what color socks he wanted, he replied something like, "I was red, blue, black, brown, white, gray, and colors they haven't even invented yet, man, because that's the way I live - on the edge man!"

Michigan, his hometown, with what appeared to be an underaged girl. She may have been 18, but I doubt it. My wife and I were wondering if she was his daughter? Apparently not.

At least you gotta give the Motor City Madman credit for not hiding his proclivity towards pedophilia? :sarcasm:

17. I actually met him when I was 9
He played in Louisville when I was a kid and he did an autograph signing nearby at a gun shop (naturally). I didn't really know much about him, I certainly didn't understand any of the political implications or anything, I just knew him as the guy who did "Stranglehold" and "Cat Scratch Fever, so I went and shook his hand, got his autograph and got an authentic Ted Nugent zebra print guitar pick. Years later, these would become great kitsch laughing stocks for my friends and I.

With hindsight, I can say he's contributed one great thing to society, and it's this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2i3XHuJvqw

33. Hendrix at the Grande
I saw him too!!

So about Nugent......true story...there was a time when Nugent was still hungry for stardom and he was as big a "star fucker" in his way, as any of the groupies.

However, he was NOT ALLOWED at the cool parties unless he agreed to bring a CASE of "Boone's'Farm Apple Wine" and promised that he wouldn't hassle the people who were tripping with his DRUNKEN (bad breath) anti-drug rants.

Now he's rich and the one true rock and roll darling of the right wing.

He still doesn't get to hang out at the cool parties.

This was when I used to live down by Wayne State University and we went to the Grande Ballroom and party with "Little Neal."

34. I still have my ticket. Framed!
Nuremberg, Germany. January 1969.

I saved and saved my meager allowance until I was able to afford a record player. It was summertime, the windows throughout the neighborhood were wide open, and I blasted the Electric Ladyland album at top volume. Again and again. In retrospect - I'm sure the neighbors were thrilled.

Eventually, Dad showed up in the door to my room (couldn't hear him knock, wonder why?), carrying a hammer. He told me I had a choice. Turn down the volume voluntarily, or he WOULD TURN IT DOWN FOR ME.

because she was under 18.
NOBODY ever wanted to have groupie sex with Nugent. Ewww
Also Nuegent went to my high school and was in my older brother's class.
My brother was drunk pretty much all of his high school years, but he says Nugent was more of a wanna-be dork/dick.

43. *Giggling*... Oh yeah?
Those were the days... I remember spending a week in Amsterdam during the summer, higher than a kite. And at the same time, being a "good kid" when the occasion called for it, doing my schoolwork, helping elderly neighbors, not getting into a shitload of trouble, etc.

And here I am now, a few decades later, a grandmother, turning 58 years old in June. Somehow I have a rough time realizing just how many years have gone by, and how different the world is. And that my son and daughter-in-law are in many ways so much more "set in their ways" than I am to this day. I'm afraid they think I'm a bit odd.

39. You lucky, lucky, bastard!!!!!!
I would have given anything to have seen him live. Ted has been trashing Jimi recently about his drug use when he hung out with him. It's quite sickening to read about. Jimi is in a class all by himself. When i listen to Electric Ladyland, you always hear something new every time. That album is so detailed, it's a masterpiece.

Nugent on the other hand has fast chops, and three chords. His leads are repetitive and boring. About the only thing Nugent does that's interesting is that before a show he will go out and find the "hot spots" on the stage for guitar feedback and mark them with an "X". I've used that idea a few times

44. Not a lucky bastard... I'm a lucky bastardette!!!
If I can ever figure out how to work this damn computer properly, I'll send you a copy of my ticket to his concert....

Actually, I had TWO tickets. My Dad wouldn't let me go by myself (concert started at 9 p.m., I was only 16 years old and he was WORRIED), so he enlisted our next door neighbors' son to take me there as a chaperone of sorts.

Neighbors' son really didn't give a shit one way or the other, so he let me have his ticket after the concert. The price of admission in 1969 was 15.00 Deutsche Mark, less than US $8.00 at the time. I caught myself being in a bit of a financial quandary a few years ago and sold one of the tickets on e-bay for 137 Euros. This would be US $162.00.

I know Jimi would have understood.

Putting Electric Ladyland on the CD player right now, to the joy of the neighbors... Thinking of you, 8 track mind!
