My letter to my Rep & Senators on the veto

Dear XXXXXXXXXXXX,

It saddens me that Bush has vetoed the emergency supplemental appropriations bill for the Iraq war. But it angers me that he has continued to fund this war through "emergency" bills. If he truly cared about the well-being of our troops, he would have actually put the war funding into the federal budget. How many years has he known about this?

The main reasons that Bush, Cheney, and the rest of their cabal desire our continued occupation of Iraq are: continuing the flow of money into the record war profits of their defense contractor cronies, completing the construction of the obscenely large (bigger than Vatican City?!) "embassy" in Baghdad, and making sure the oil corporations can begin the theft of Iraq's oil through so-called "production-sharing" agreements. This administration's mission is to use the Iraq war and other governmental functions to take tax money from U.S. citizens and give it to the multinational corporations. In my mind, this is treason. We cannot allow them to accomplish that mission.

Your mission is to bring an end to this war as soon as possible, while keeping our troops safe and minimizing any further damage to Iraq. Daunting, I know, but this is what we voted for back in November. As I see it, there are several methods worth trying:
- Override the veto.
- Refuse to send any more Iraq funding bills to Bush. This will put the ball back in his court. I have heard there is funding through June. If this is not enough time to withdraw the troops, he can reverse his veto.
- Send bills for funding specific troop protection and withdrawal activity if needed. Nothing more.
- Pass a bill revoking the Iraq War Resolution authority, or one making the occupation illegal.
- Investigate. The more corruption is exposed in this administration, the less support they will have from the people, and the easier it will be to bring justice.
- Impeachment. Co-sponsor Rep. Kucinich's impeachment of Cheney. Have you heard that the forged documents relating to the false assertion that Iraq was trying to obtain Uranium from Niger may have been traced back to Cheney? Bush needs to be impeached as well.

This war and the Bush administration are bankrupting the U.S. Do you know that the amount of money our school district has to cut from its budget next year is about the same as what is being spent per HOUR on the war in Iraq?

2. Thanks! I just realized I made a little mistake, though.

I guess in my copy-paste fury, I ended up asking my Senators to co-sponsor Rep. Kucinich's impeachment of Cheney, which I guess they can't really do, but I hope they still get my point.
