James Cameron Blasts Glenn Beck
Clash of the egos!

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Avatar" director James Cameron lashed out at Glenn Beck at a press conference Tuesday, offering to debate the Fox News personality on environmental and political issues.

Asked what he thought about Beck during a junket appearance in support of the "Avatar" home-video release, Cameron said: "Glenn Beck is a f---ing a--hole. I've met him. He called me the anti-Christ, and not about 'Avatar.' He hadn't even seen 'Avatar' yet. I don't know if he has seen it."

...

What makes Beck dangerous, The Hollywood Reporter asked Cameron at the junket. "He's dangerous because his ideas are poisonous," Cameron answered. "I couldn't believe when he was on CNN. I thought, what happened to CNN? Who is this guy? Who is this madman? And then of course he wound up on Fox News, which is where he belongs, I guess."

Asked if he felt the right wing's attacks against him were continuing, Cameron replied: "They're not attacks. They're just people ranting away, lost in their little bubbles of reality, steeped in their own hatred, their own fear and hatred. That's where it all comes from. Let's just call it out. Let's have a public discussion. That's what movies are supposed to do, you know. You can have a mindless entertainment film that doesn't affect anybody. I wasn't interested in that."

1. Say what you will about James Cameron...
or his movies - but I really love how he is an unrepentant liberal and won't take shit from anyone.

I am so sick of these lying, psychopathic, ridiculous right wing hatemongers
spewing their nonsense within the confines of their television and radio
programs.

Has everyone listened to Beck? The man spews total lies and discombobulated
theories that are absolutely packed full of illogical connections that
he sees--but a sane person doesn't.

It is totally bizarre. It's worse than Goebbels. It's a string of lies and
assertions connected by hair-on-fire fear. No truth. No logic. No common
sense.

And this is the fuel that 20 percent of the electorate is running on.

Beck and his ilk need to be forced out of their media bubbles and into some
real debate--where their bizarre circus acts are truly torn to shreds with
truth and reason. Many think Beck is annoying or just an ass. He's taking
advantage of ignorant people and it CAN affect elections and it can affect
our country.

This junk needs to be diffused. Anyone who thinks it's not worth it needs to
remember Rush Limbaugh's significant role in the 1994 Republican takeover
of Congress. He whipped them into a frenzy and motivated them to vote and
be more involved. It made a difference. We need to fight this stuff, and,
as Cameron said, have a public debate.

These charlatans lose in real debates.

I thought 24% of Repukes, according to stats posted on DU this week, thought President Obama was the anti-christ? So is BecKKK one of the other 76%, is there more than one anti-christ, or are they all just bat-shit crazy?

7. Undoubtedly. Like Al Qaeda #2's, there's just no end to the filthy libruls labeled "Anti-Christ".
You'd think the neocons and teabaggers'd be all worn out with all the hyperbole.

I don't think I had that kind of stamina in my 20's.

5. Just read "The Futurist".. a film bio of Cameron....
The guy is a genius... hardheaded, perfectionist, egomaniacal genius... but genius never the less.

I would love to see a head-to-head between Cameron and Beck or any of those morons. They would be shredded.

6. Jim Cameron does not play patsy cake with words
And he could eat Beck for breakfast while editing his next film with his free hand. He's a genius, and also not all that interested in projecting a fuzzy warm neutral image, he projects himself, spots and all.
