5. You certainly do seem to enjoy attacking the Dems and their progressive agenda

8. I support progressive initiatives
but this isn't one of them, in my opinion.

11. Actually, THAT poster is a strong voice FOR progressive agenda
Edited on Wed Mar-24-10 10:54 AM by havocmom
Some here don't like the fact that such posters won't stfu and stop insisting we make those improvements we were told would be possible after the bill passed.

We won't stop working toward those improvements.

edited for typo

16. The "fact" is this poster readily admits to attacking the Dems as much as the Republicans
that shows this poster is not helping the progressive agenda, rather just creates a lot of friction while we all spin our wheels.

3. A) GOP seems not to be the only ones trying to block discussion of improvements
B) Gee, perhaps this IS the bill they actually wanted? Not the first time a lot of drama was used in a reverse fashion to dupe others.

Just thought I would add those seemingly overlooked points.

No need to thank me. All part of my personal fairness policy.

7. I doubt they like the original Senate bill. However that doesn't stop them
from false framing their current obstruction efforts as stopping all health care reform rather than just trying to stop the improvements.

9. In our opinion it is an improvement but certainly not in theirs.
But it doesn't really matter. They are committed to stopping any and all legislation from Democrats. In fact they are terrified that if Democrats do manage to get things acomplished the people will like it and Republicans will never win another election.

10. I think you nailed it. If the Dems accomplish positive things
the GOP will have little to offer. After all last time they were in charge they wrecked the economy, started two long and costly wars and left our nation dangerously dependent on foreign oil. The only selling point they had left is the the Dems are worse than themselves.

12. It does seem odd
Even McCain offered and amendment with the thing about "gets rid of some of the worst" or some such statement. Much of what they are blocking are things they'd probably prefer actually get passed.

15. That's certainly part of the irony. They are now trying to block things they like

14. I haven't seen them called on that yet
Also, throwing in amendments as a game, they don't seem worried about not having time to read the amendments.

17. That's true
So it's likely the GOP will vote against removing the sweetheart deals from the bill. That will make a good TV ad come October.
