Teacher May Lose Job Over Tirade

WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. -- The Seminole County School Board will meet on Tuesday to discuss whether a special needs teacher should be reinstated after she had a 26-minute, curse-laden argument with a student.

Cydney Abrams, who has taught at Winter Springs High School since 2002, has been suspended without pay since April 2009.

A state judge has recommended that Abrams be reinstated, but the school superintendent believes she should be fired.

In the nearly half-hour argument, which was recorded by another student in the classroom, the teacher and student can both be heard cursing.

"Have you been smoking and drinking this morning?" the teacher asked at one point.
