Why Republicans Lie 101: It WORKS
Witness ACORN, announcing today that it is forced to cease operations due to its funding drying up.

IOW, "The ends justify the means." Hmm...where have I heard that before?

1. Thanks for the recs...but c'mon, no comment?
The whole ACORN thing has turned out to be a complete scam --- blatant, deliberate Republican lies backed and reinforced by the media --- and now ACORN is forced to shut down because of they can no longer support themselves. It's exactly what the GOP wanted, and all they had to do was LIE and get the story out. No one cared.

And yet, I keep seeing these threads asking "Gosh, why are the Repukes such bad guys?" Well, here's your answer. Because they know it works. Their media henchmen will back them up. It serves their purpose to LIE. So, when you see Boner and Rove and all the rest of the GOP scumbags saying the most outlandish bullshit and still ask "How can they say that?!" well...here's why.

2. big lie
when fox news and republican monies get put behind shutting down a grassroots group that tries to help poor people in the community for which they are getting villified as communists.very sad....i'd like to see some of those fat cats step and help some of those people if they are going to obstruct others from doing it.....shit or get off the pot....

moreover the concept of the big lie describes the repub party....tell one big lie over and over and on such a grand scale that some people believe it due to massive misinformation rammed down their ear canals and their own lack of education.....

ask most people who call this bill socialism and in the teabag party a few questions like
1)what exactly in this bill is socialistic? give me clauses of the law
2)how is this bill different from social security and medicare?
3)have you read this bill?
4)have you read a book not authored by sarah palin or glenn beck?
5)have you read this constitution document you keep alluding to?
6)explain to me how a constitutional republic works?

instead of educating these people the political system works such that they get sold a big shiny lie that can fit on a bumper sticker....

4. The MSM also gives them a major assist....
Why do you think our President has to continue to do town halls? They lie ad nauseam. The media should be held accountable but just what agencies does the government have that has teeth to demand accurate reporting?

5. thanks
i agree....

and btw i'm glad i found this forum. i live in an extremely crimson red area and i join sports boards and often use their political boards but they are full
of conservative nutjobs who have confederate heroes as their avatars...

i'm just worried though that since no one is the party is strong enough to refute lies we'll have to continue having obama do it..which while can be invigorating may not be the best utilization of a presidents time....tit for tat has its place but it should not be incessant.....

for the longest time i wanted reid and pelosi to step aside b/c i found them too pusillanamous....and they brought more cache in opposition fund raising than their positives for the democrats....but for pelosi that has changed....she's a keeper....

reid i'm not sure..he has problems in nevada. and i'd like a young forceful guy who will outwit that snail curmudgeon mcconnell..

8. Lies worked great for Bush. He kind of set the moral standard for the party.
And the lies can flip 180 if it serves their purpose.
It's not hypocritical to them because the content of the lie is of no importance.
The only purpose is to defeat Democrats and anything said that achieves this is valid.
