Being a Democratic Speaker is historically like herding cats.... but she's shown an adeptness for it.

1. Yeah, like holding the neocons accountable for war crimes... oh wait
that's right, accountability is "off the table," but apparently a massive new revenue stream for the insurance industry is not. :eyes: :puke:

8. Balderdash... if it's not up to her, then why did she make an issue of saying it was off the table?
which distinctly implies there is an "on the table" option.

12. It's not the Presidents role.
It really should be the role of Congress to investigate Executive war crimes. Especially when Bush was still President. Its one of those checks and balances.

17. Yeah because that whole Bush Impeachment thing wen so well.....
Oh wait it was off the table as was single payer and a strong public option. But if handing the Insurance parasites millions of new victims I mean customers then she gets things done.
If they think that the Health Care fight is over then they got another thing coming. Single payer nonprofit Health Care is the best solution to our Health Care problem and I'm not giving up until we get it.

16. She's been on fire since the day after the 2006 mid-terms,
when she squelched her own party enemies (see Harman, Jane) when the late Murtha made a half-hearted run for her historic Speaker seat.

I too was riled at her imperialist pronouncement that impeachment was off the table. I've since forgiven her.

She's redeemed herself sufficiently for me because she's been handling her/our biz since 11/2006; for the most part, keeping her recalcitrant dems in line when it comes to voting.

She's way more gutsy--and wily--as a party leader than Reid will ever be.

she was a political operative. I recall walking into a town office an instantly spotted her hand writing page after page of writing.

28. I disagree ,
Nancy and her counterpart Mr. Harry Reid are ineffectual leaders at best, and the only reason that this got passed was Obama using the bully pulpit. If the Republicans had a sixty seat majority in the Senate and one in the House, you can bet your britches that one year later, you would be leaving for Canda.

29. I first saw her with Maxine Waters on Tweety some years ago. They were awesome.
They gave the phrase "iron hand in a velvet glove" real meaning. I was left with the thought, always be on their side. They were bitch slapping some goppers on the show, in a lady like way, of course. What a joy to watch.

30. Yeah, like forcing the Progressive Caucus to accept Republican-inspired measures
That kind of "getting shit done" we can do without.

Now getting the DINOs to accept a public option open to all comers, a Medicare buy-in, or single-payer? THAT would be an accomplishment worth celebrating.

Otherwise, she is the biggest disappointment the Progressive Caucus has ever produced.
