1. They don't want the teenage slut getting an abortion to fit in her prom dress.
That about sums it up.

7. It just sounds more vicious, as is their way.
Like there's a revolving door on abortion.
They forget that it is the law of the land,
and it is the most heartbreaking thing a
woman or her doctor would want to perform.

They forget that some of their constituents
are incestual or rapists. Maybe they support that...?
But having an abortion is not a light decision
for either the woman or the doctor.
Why do they hate women??

10. The 'mind' part is what's throwing me. So it's your contention that
Republicans have minds?

That's going to take a while to process.

11. I guess they imagine some woman
who carries her pregnancy wakes up one day in her seventh month, sick of feeling fat and miserable, goes to her doctor and says, "I demand an abortion now."

12. Makes as much sense as "colonoscopy on demand"
If you want a colonoscopy, you get one. And insurance usually pays for it. Some have restrictions, like only one in 3 or 5 years, but really, it's on demand.

18. They mean the woman getting one because she wants one, without
permission of a board of some kind. To decide whether it will harm her health or if it was rape.

20. What I mean when I say it is exactly what it says on the tin.
I believe that, in the first trimester at least, abortion should be available on demand - the only hoop a woman should be required to jump through to obtain an abortion legally is asking for one from a qualified practitioner (and even not doing that should only be a crime for the person performing the medical procedure without medical qualifications, not for the woman obtaining an abortion.

I don't really understand the objection to the phrase, to be honest - it strikes me as entirely value-neutral.

This is one of their major malfunctions - they don't understand this.
