Well, I saw a butterfly here today. The geese have been headed north overhead for a week now, and the mud is almost dried up. We haven't had snowfall in weeks. My crocuses are up and full of bees.

Global climate change, anyone?

1. Oswego here
I only had to fire up the snow blower twice this season. I'm glad we got a pass this year.

8. The weird part is that the 55" is really nothing for us. About
10 years back, it started snowing, and snowing and snowing and stayed so cold for weeks that the snow never thawed. I was driving a Suburban at the time and planned my trips to avoid intersections with stop signs because I couldn't see over the snow banks to tell if anyone was coming.

10. Wow! I do remember a winter like that here around '91 or 92.

We did not have snow banks THAT high..but what we had stayed in place for months.

I was able to walk out my back door and the snow was to the top of a 4 step stoop, and I could just walk right out onto it..and not sink.

9. Crocuses have started to come up--but 8-10 inches wet snow today
in Denver... As long as it doesn't pull branches down, it will be good "liquid" fertilizer for spring blooms.

BTW, this is the anniversary of a 2003 record-breaking storm in Denver and along the front range, where 52 inches or more came down... So, this mild storm is put in proper perspective. ;)

11. We broke temp records today in Massachusetts.

We're forecast to be breaking them tomorrow as well.

Everybody is happy that it feels like it should be in later spring; not one day before spring.

13. That's OK - I think you folks south of the Thruway really took
the brunt of this winter and we got off very lightly.

Are you looking forwards to Mother's Day?

15. Maybe but not as bad as my brother in Maryland
and of course living between the to snow belts means not usually getting a major, upstate New York style, snow.
