Leading Pro-Abortion Group Will Likely Back Hillary Clinton for President
by Steven Ertelt
LifeNews.com Editor
January 17, 2007

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A leading abortion advocacy group that has consistently been the top political action committee in the nation is expected to endorse New York Sen. Hillary Clinton once she formally declares her intention to run for president. However, Emily List's track record hasn't been very good in recent elections.

"We are going to be there early on,” Ellen Malcolm, president of the organization, told the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper.
"When gets in the race, there are going to be millions of women excited about electing the first female president," Malcolm added.

The pro-abortion group typically sends out mailings to its hundreds of thousands of members asking them to contribute to a candidate's campaign. Emily's List also provides campaign staff members but Malcolm didn't say if that would be the case for Clinton.

A report in Roll Call, a Capitol Hill newspaper, indicates that Emily's List has also built up a well-oiled political machine that could help Clinton the most.

8. You are right. Democrats need to control the framing on this issue.
I have yet to meet anyone who is pro-abortion, although I know many who are pro-choice.

14. I'm pro-abortion.
One of the few. I think children, especially under the age of 16, should be strongly encouraged to abort, especially if raped, and especially if raped by a relative.

I am very, very tired of children giving birth to children, and think that encouraging them to make an "adult" decision about the matter is inappropriate.

15. Are you trying to tell us
that you are Pro-Choice? You know those 16 year olds may need to visit a Pro-Choice Womens Center and seek birth control planning. An abortion is only one option.

4. I found this sentence in the article interesting:
" Of the 19 competitive House races in which EMILY's List backed and funded a candidate, only two won." Wasn't that pretty close to the DLC's record last time around?

The "pro-abortion" terminology didn't concern me as that didn't come from the campaign but the, "...there are going to be millions of women excited about electing the first female president" bothered me a lot. It's as if women will vote for her solely on that "qualification." I find THAT insulting but typical from the bloviating beltway boys.
