Pathetic and sad as it is to say that, the vast majority of people will not give a shit. They will be up in arms if someone attempts to raise their taxes or gives any money to public programs out of their precious tax dollars. But they won't give a damn that we are basically institutionalizing stupidity into our school systems.

I'd love to say this is just Texas or just the South. But here in NJ they overwhelmingly voted for the conservative candidate for Governer who promised to get rid of waste and lower property taxes and all that other conservative boilerplate. And now he just appointed a guy in charge of NJ education whose main connection to education was heading a fundy university that promoted intelligent design. So who knows how the hell this joker will try to pull some of the same crap here in my northern, supposedly liberal state.
