I work with an idiot freeper. He storms around the office spouting off all of the talking points. Ramming health care down his throat, doesn't want to pay for everyones health care, commie Obama and his commie gubmint needs to stay out of his life. He comes in to work today and tells me about having to take his daughter to the Dr., and the Dr. sends her to the hospital. Turns out she has a kidney infection - gets a shot and sent home. She is getting better.

To make a point about the high cost of care, I say " What did that set you back, Mitchell, about 2-3 thousand?"

"Didn't cost me anything" he says with a straight face "she's on CHIP."

At that moment, I just wanted to slap the shit out of his ignorant self.

4. When they get a deal, they think they've earned it, when its someone else's
deal, its an entitlement.

7. You should hear a (NEVER saw combat) veteran in my family tell the rest of us about the glories of
Capitalism. He has never had a civilian job in his life.

8. I hear the same thing
From people on medicare, and people who are retired military, both of which are government run programs. They complain about paying for someone else health care when someone else is paying for theirs! The sand think is they can't see the irony of it all.

13. It's not irony - it's fear - if everyone starts getting it, their portion might
be diminished.

I've noticed all the people tea bagging are the ones on military retirement, student loans, medicare and social security as well

9. EVERY Rethug I know is like that
It's soooo disgusting. L&I pays for reconstructive surgery. L&I pays for lost wages at 80% rate. They are first to draw unemployment, even partial if they get a WalMart job. They sue over anything. Then they refuse to meet their financial obligations, declaring bankruptcy just before the corporatist credit/bankruptcy law change - keeping their house. Now because they have WalMart jobs, they're trying to get TARP - whatever they can.

Please!

11. You should slip something like this on his desk, highlight where needed...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Children's_Health_Insurance_Program

"The State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) – later known more simply as the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)<1> – is a program administered by the United States Department of Health and Human Services that provides matching funds to states for health insurance to families with children. The program was designed with the intent to cover uninsured children in families with incomes that are modest but too high to qualify for Medicaid.

At its creation in 1997, SCHIP was the largest expansion of taxpayer-funded health insurance coverage for children in the U.S. since Medicaid began in the 1960s..."
