The London bombers: What MI5 knew
http://edition.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe/04/30/terror.links.reut/index.html

Two of the four suicide bombers who blew themselves up on London's transport system on July 7, 2005, killing 52 people, had come to the attention of British security services more than a year earlier.

Newly released court papers, together with a parliamentary committee report last year, show how Mohammad Sidique Khan and Shehzad Tanweer first appeared on the security services' radar, reviving debate over the handling of the intelligence.

# MI5 intelligence agents photographed Khan and Tanweer and recorded conversations they held in February and March 2004 with two men under surveillance in a suspected bomb plot. They were heard discussing financial scams such as credit card fraud.

# MI5 did not know their names at the time. They were not judged high priority as they were not part of the bomb plot and showed no sign of involvement in terrorist activity in Britain.

Looks like Britain has its own little terror attack scandal going on.
