DeLay: People are unemployed because they want to be
Once again, a Republican leader lashes out on those living the good life on $300-$350 per week unemployment checks. What a maroon. As November gets closer, you can expect to hear more of this. In 2010, the long-term unemployed could end up being political targets in the same way undocumented lettuce pickers, gardeners and chamber maids were targeted in 2008.

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay says that Sen. Jim Bunning was "brave" for blocking an extension in unemployment benefits.

DeLay subscribes to the notion that people only try to find jobs when their benefits run out.

3. That all goes back to Ronald Reagan's mythical Cadillac driving Welfare Q
They love to deflect the short comings of their philosophy by inventing cheats amongst the down and outer populations strata.

11. Idiot doesn't even know you have to show you are seeking work
to get the unemployment, and I believe on a weekly basis.

And in this economy, how dare he say that?

14. I Am Unemployed Because The Industry That I Was Working In Has Far Fewer Jobs
I worked in the legal industry in NY, and there are simply far fewer jobs now than there was just three years ago. Even partners are being pushed out. So, I am trying to change industries which is not easy because of there are so many other unemployed people.

Mr. DeLay, like a typical inhumane conservative, always wants to blame the victims of economic dislocation because that allows the system to go unchallenged.

15. All republicans who think like this can eat a dick. And I'm not kidding.
They don't even deserve to have their party capitalized.

18. Wish my hubby's check was $300 a week - he gets $150! He feels lucky to get that!
We put in for another round of jobs but they are so few that for every job it seems 100's of people are applying! It is VERY hard right now in Ohio to find anything!

21. DeLay drinks pesticides
to show how harmless they are. The first thing to go is self awareness. He does not realize his loss of what little IQ he had and he seems not to be aware that he is starting to look like a female.
