Oh, but I did find this:

Hybrids Ford also victims of brake problems

Friday Feb 5, 2010
After the Japanese manufacturer Toyota is Ford's turn to report problems with brakes on hybrid cars. Without explicitly mention a reminder of cars, the manufacturer said that the owners of certain 2010 models of the Fusion Hybrid and Milan Hybrid mail to receive a letter advising them to go to their dealer for a free upgrade of the computer system manager braking.

The manufacturer said that the problem occurs when switching between the two braking the vehicle, and that drivers always have an effective braking despite posting misleading.

At Ford, the software problem equip 18,000 cars, but only a small fraction of that total "will suffer a problem, according to a consumer association.

While I think it's a nice tribute, my cynical side wonders if this is now nothing more than a Pile-On. Not defending Toyota's recalcitrance in admitting and dealing with problems. But they are, in no way, unique amongst car manufacturers in handling problems in that way.

5. Why would you google for something that happened over 10 years ago
Edited on Sun Feb-28-10 10:06 AM by itsrobert
Don't you know the internet was still young at the time? Many people still on dial-up and pictures not huge on dial-up.

Why are Toyota's apologist so quick to go into defensive mode? Why don't you address the topic? A murder happens today, nobody goes back 10 years to discuss a different murder. And the excuse that "they did it too" doesn't even work in Judge Judy's court.

Have fun cashing your Toyota paycheck.

indicates I'm not apologizing for their TYPICAL corporate behavior which mimics behavior from American car manufacturers.

Here's another tidbit about faulty car manufacturing. More current. Google "faulty car locks" and it seems multiple cars now have issues with their locks that could cause people to be trapped in wrecks. It isn't just Hyundai.

Hyundai Sonata recalled due to faulty door locks
Hyundai's recall affects more than 46,000 Sonatas in the U.S. and South Korea. The company is the world's number four automaker, and is expected to increase its market share in the wake of Toyota's current problems.

Analysts are now keeping an eye on Hyundai, the latest major automaker hit by a recall. The company discovered a fault in its new Sonata model. In certain cases, the front-door locks would not latch correctly.

The internet may have been smaller in the past, but the Media sure as hell was capable of focusing on Ford SUV's and they never really did. Maybe an obligatory 60 Minutes episode and a Congressional Hearing but after that -squat.

It was all over the news everyday. I don't know where you get off inventing your own facts.

than an innocent man in prison.
