Another Republican Bites The Dust
John Linder retiring

“ATLANTA - U.S. Rep. John Linder has announced he will retire from Congress after 18 years.

The Republican from Gwinnett County made the announcement Saturday at the dedication of a new Gwinnett County GOP headquarters. Linder aide Derick Corbett confirmed the congressman's decision, saying he would not be seeking re-election.

Gwinnett GOP manager David Hancock told the paper that the announcement, which came at the end of brief speech by Linder, caught attendees off-guard.

Linder was one of Newt Gingrich's top lieutenants when he was U.S. House speaker, and most recently has been an advocate for a sales tax to replace the federal income tax.”

2. comparing republicans to dead horses or horses asses is very apt
and when they win a district it shows how un-intelligent the voters are. Take Steve King for example.

3. Does this mean the Republicans are in disarray?
Of course not. That's not the favored media narrative. Even as more Republican office-holders head off into the sunset than Democrats, the favored narrative is about how bad November looks for the Democrats. Yeah, right.

4. Linder, who let Abramoff pay for a trip way back when,
though, I don't remember where, (Peurto Rico, think, but may be wrong)

6. Alas, it's a strongly Republican district, so there's probably no pickup
The district's PVI is R+16. Unless there happens to be a Democrat with a lot of local popularity, the seat will stay red.
