Are we moving towards a radicalization in politics? And why I hope so...
It seems the Republicans are acting more and more in a radicalized manner. They've been acting like radicals for a while.

The Democrats have been all "Peace And Love" since Obama took office and we know where this led us.

I believe the Democrats are now acting in a more radicalized manner.

There does not seem to be a lot of middle in the middle of the road.

Maybe a few RINOs will appear (like Brown, maybe?) and DINOs will disappear (one can only dream) but it seems to be more and more polarized.

I hope I am right, because the more this will go on like this, the easier it will be to get things done.

If reconciliation is the key, they so be it.

The Dems have now 7 months to showcase themselves as the party of action and to make the GOP appear like the bunch of obstructionists that they are.

Again, I hope I am right.

1. Reconciliation is a joke.
I don't know what still has Democrats thinking the other side has any intention of compromising or working together for the benefit of their countrymen. This will be the Democrats' downfall....failing to act like winners when they have the majority, and will soon be the minority again wondering where it all went wrong.

2. You are in the minority here
Like really reconciliation was the downfall of the Republicans.

Strong leadership is what the country needs, not strong ideas.

You are so Obama 1.0

4. Sorry, but you're confused.
Reconciliation is quite the opposite of "compromising or working together."

6. Are we talking reconciliation, the procedure to pass health care, or reconciling with enemies?
Edited on Sat Feb-27-10 11:13 AM by backscatter712
Because I think reconciling with our GOP enemies is impossible, we need to be using the reconciliation procedure to shove health care reform down their throats.

3. Radicalization started in the Rethug party after Clinton was elected
It has merely been gaining speed in the past 17 years and there are no signs of a reversal any time soon.

5. Radicalization started in the Rape-Publican Party after Goldwater was defeated.
Look up the "Powell Memo," which came out more like 40 years ago...

11. I disagree--voters want progress not petty bickering
What you call "radicalization" is why Congress has a 19% approval rating.
