People who say they want to die or are going to die, even when there's no medical reason for it, generally manage to do it.

My own dad did. As soon as he told me he wanted to go, I assembled the troops and got his DNR. Hardest thing I ever did was uphold it.

My parents had made their wishes clear decades ago. He was right about needing to have that conversation early whether or not you want to.

I hate that he's having to go through this, too.
