Health Scandal of the Decade – Monsanto’s GMO Perversion of Food

http://www.wellnessresources.com/freedom/articles/health_scandal_of_the_decade_monsantos_gmo_perversion_of_food/

In the 2010 growing season Monsanto plans to unleash its latest Frankenfood experiment on the American and Canadian public, a new version of genetically mutated corn with eight abnormal gene traits called Genuity SmartStax corn. It is the culmination of an astonishing scandal that has been steadily building over the past decade. During this time Monsanto’s mutated seeds have grown to 90% of the U.S. soy crop and 85% of the corn crop – and wheat is next on their agenda. Their efforts have been marked by corporate bullying and have drawn the attention of the Justice Department who is conducting an antitrust investigation. All the while they have been spending millions on lobbying to fast track their agenda before the American public even realizes what hit them. Europeans are livid about the lack of safety testing for this newest Monsanto experiment. Monsanto is making an ominous power play to corner the worldwide market on food and seeds. In the process they are adversely altering the very nature of food itself.

Few people would eat Monsanto’s “food” if they understood what it was or knew that they were eating it. President Obama and his family won’t eat it. Neither did the Bush family. Even a Monsanto employee cafeteria rejects it. This is no laughing matter. Your health and the health of your children and grandchildren are at stake. It seems more like a scene from a horror flick than something happening in modern day America. Imagine your digestive tract turned into a Roundup herbicide factory and other warped genetic signals slowly and progressively rotting away your health. Unlike acute food poisoning from infectious E.coli, it is a slow and insidious poisoning.

Why GMO Food is Dangerous

Take Back Our Food – Join the Fight

We the people can have a huge impact and we can change this serious threat to human health. Don’t buy GMO-containing food. GMOs permeate corn and soy products, beet sugar is now mutated, and wheat is next in line. If you aren’t sure how to avoid GMO foods and brands then follow the advice given on Jeffrey Smith’s Non-GMO shopping guide. Demand from your political representatives that all GMO food be labeled as containing GMOs. This isn’t just a political issue – this is about your personal health and the future of food.

2. Corporate occult mutant food is a perversion

They won't label their mutant food-facsimile crapola -- because they don't want human beings to know they are having mutant crap forced down their gullets to enhance corporate-republicon profiteering and monopolization.

Ptoooey on occult mutant food-facsimile product.

3. Even 20 years ago, only 2 major strains of corn made up the large majority of the crops.

It was actually 12 varieties, but only from 2 strains. There are something like 4,000 varieties of corn and hundreds of strains. By placing so much dependence on 2 strains, mega-agribusiness is putting the food supply at serious risk, GMO factors aside. At some point, some virus, mold, or bacteria is going to adapt to cause unthinkable damage to the corn crops. All it would need to do is be proficient at attacking one of the strains and nearly half of our corn supply would be decimated.

The Monsanto monopoly and heavy-handed approach with farmers is only making the situation worse. It has gotten really ugly. Monsanto claims the patent to the genetic modifications and threatens to prosecute farmers who might be thinking about using the previous year's crop to plant a new year's crop. Unlike hybrids, most GMO crops can be replanted. It is easy for Monsanto to figure out who is cheating - if they don't buy seeds and have a crop, they're a suspect.

Another major problem is the attitude of farmers themselves. They may feel trapped, but go along anyway because of perceived advantages. The "Round-Up Ready" crops allow them to spread MASSIVE amounts of Round-Up (another Monsanto product) on the fields to kill weeds without causing damage to the crops. That's pretty sick when you think about it. I've used Round-Up on a small number of occasions and that shit nukes EVERYTHING, including some barberry bushes that just wouldn't go the fuck away even after I cut them to the ground. They just kept sending up shoots all over the place. It killed them.

It isn't just the safety or sustainability of the crops either. Monsanto is directly responsible for the shift from small farms to mega-agribusiness. Small farmers have to borrow to purchase the seeds, fertilizer, and weed killer. They're competing against huge companies that are often predatory. All it takes is one bad season to put a small farmer in danger of bankruptcy. The mega-agribusiness companies can weather a few bad ones without worry and actually gain from it by being able to offer below-market prices for farm land so they can expand. The trend is not looking good.

On Edit:

There's an inexpensive alternative to Round-Up. Mix white vinegar with concentrated lemon juice (mostly vinegar) and put it in a spray bottle. If it is at least 60 degrees out and the weeds are exposed to sun for at least 3 hours from the time you apply it, the mixture is just as effective as Round-Up. It is also REALLY inexpensive! The only down side is that it will make the soil acidic for about a month but that can be adjusted with lime. Despite what Monsanto claims about Round-Up breaking down, there is mounting evidence that the claim is total bullshit and it leaves some nasty shit in the soil.

4. Corporations will destroy civilization.
With "Frankenfoods", proposals for building more dangerous nuclear power plants, global climate change, massive pollution of land, water, and the atmosphere, rampant militarism, and banker swindles, civilization will not survive for much longer.

The problem has grown and festered due to gross corruption, primarily in the U.S. government. Far from preventing a crisis, the U.S. government is aiding and abetting the corporations in their destruction of our environment, and now the world's food supply.

If this rush to catastrophe for profit is not reversed, planet earth is going to witness another mass extinction, and a return of humanity to the stone age.

5. KnRnB. The Potato Famine was caused by total dependence on one crop. Bee colony collapse is...
... abetted or even caused by a monoculture of bees -- a drastically reduced gene pool. Monsanto's GMOs will inevitably, and at a minimum, increase human misery due to unexpected and unexplainable food allergies.

Monsanto's ability to send out seed that won't reproduce past one generation -- and now their legal ability to sue anyone who saves viable seeds -- will eventually cause a global human famine the likes of which the world has never seen. Our country will not be immune from this disaster.

The Goddess is going to be very, very pissed.
