Healthcare = Strikeout - public option is gone

Wars = Strikeout - the killing continues

Trade = strikeout - now he is promoting even more job killing free trade deals

Economy = strikeout - the rich continue to get more from the gold mine while we get the shaft

Education = strikeout - puts a charter school whore in charge

He has yet to make contact with a single pitch. He talks a good game out there in left field though, so many on the team are happy little baseball fans.

5. It's not his hitting. The pitchers are tossing him shit.
I think that if Obama told the hurler to give him one in the wheelhouse he could go yard.

But then, there's the problem. He won't demand it, so they won't serve it up.

6. If they served it up, he would take it for strike three.
Rahm, the third base coach, gave him the take sign.

9. At least he appears to have struck out swinging
the ultimate humiliation is to strike out looking.

10. More like a check swing.
You can't tell with the way his stance keeps changing from the 2008 season.

he's been in a slump and it looks like he came up from the minors too soon.

11. Few and far between are the rookies who make it in the big leagues...
Probably should have stayed in the farm system for at least a couple more years. Can't hit the curveball, and fastballs make it seem like the bat is swinging HIM. Has a good glove but a weak enough arm to force him to play first base which isn't bad in itself because he's a lefty. Needs to put on more than a few pounds if he ever wants to hit with consistent power. One more season like the last one and he'll probably be a perennial AAA player.

Will probably make an excellent third base coach someday; he has all the signs down pat, but doesn't produce.

13. when your team is losing, a smart hitter knows how to manufacture hits, or get on base
Edited on Thu Feb-25-10 01:43 AM by flyarm
to give his team a chance of scoring a winning run..its called "small ball"..it's taking it for the team..with Bunts, sacrifice..even getting hit by a pitch..whatever it takes to get on base or move a runner over..

Seems Obama isn't as smart as some make him out to be..

The other team is going to win..by letting Obama and his ego and his selfishness put himself first..he is swinging for the fences ..and he will fail..most hitters fail more than succeed..and the other team is going to open a can of whip ass on him..and will take his ass deep in November ..the series will be theirs!

And the Home town will never forgive him..

15. A few more to add (transparency, accountability, election reform, etc.)

Transparency - Strikeout - We still have the justice department actively using State Secrets Privilege like Bush was, and a lot of the rules Bush put in place screwing us over haven't been fixed. Prisoners have been moved from "visible" places like Guantanamo to Baghram, and are continuing to suffer the long time limbo of not being charged with crimes, etc. they were in at Guantanamo.

Accountability - Strikeout - Cheney even admits he was a war criminal this last weekend, and this justice department does NOTHING to fix things. And their paranoia to not go after Karl Rove and company leads an innocent Democrat like Don Siegelman staying in prison, and freeing a GOP crook like Ted Stevens.

Election Reform - Strikeout - We NEED public campaign financing, if Obama wants to continue to use the excuse of "we don't have enough votes", when it is obvious the reason for that is that we have too many Democrats on K-Street payrolls now. Obama had earlier started a bill in the Senate which he co-signed to do public campaign financing. Was that just for show? We still are using electronic voting machines which probably was the partial reason for being screwed in Massachusetts midterm election, and we still are doing NOTHING substantively about the Supreme Court decision to open up the campaign corruption money floodgates.

Gay Rights - Strikeout - After Rick Warren's offensive inauguration speech for Obama, there still hasn't been much done to fight for gays' rights much. Don't Ask Don't Tell is a start, but that's not all Obama's doing.

Energy Reform - Strikeout - The Cap and Trade "solutions" still leave a lot to be desired, and the Copenhagen speech and spiel by Obama and his administration was also a big disappointment.

Immigration Reform - Strikeout - Instead of finding ways to bring illegal immigration under control by going after illegal employers, and scaling back H-1B Visa program, Democrats like Schumer are looking to expand H-1B Visa caps. Not good!

Environmental Reform - Strikeout - WHY are we still pushing the screwy myth of "Clean" Coal? We should be outlawing mountaintop removal!

We desperately need a left fielder who can advance a runner every now and then.

18. I'd say "batting a thousand".
Lets take a look at his record:

*WARS fully funded and EXPANDING. Bill sent to our children…...Home Run !

*Trillion Dollars given to friends and campaign contributors on Wall Street. No Strings Attached...Home Run!

*Military Spending INCREASED....Home Run!

*Trillion+ Dollars given to the Health Insurance Industry. Easily Avoidable, symbolic only strings attached....Solid hit, ball in the air, headed over the fence!

*Force all Americans to buy invisible products from For Profit Corporations who manufacture nothing and create no (Value Added) wealth..."A Uniquely American Solution"..indeed. .....Solid Hit, rounding the bases!

*Kill the possibility for a REAL "Public Option" or REAL Universal Health Care for at least another generation, and begin the “Entitlement Reform” defunding of Medicare (-$500 Billion)....Solid hit.

*Block ANY REAL re-regulation of BIG BANKS and Credit Cards....Home Run!

*Protect the Bush War Criminals and Torturers from JUSTICE....Home Run.

*Throw the GBLTs under the bus and expand "faith based" initiatives....Home Run!

*Reinforce the worst Police State provisions of the Patriot Act and strengthen the Unitary Executive....Home Run!

*Protect the very richest. Tell the Working Class that they CAN WILL compete with 3rd World Slave Labor for their jobs.....Grand Slam Home Run!

*EFCA (Employee Free Choice Act) killed in the crib....Home Run!

*More Anti-LABOR "Free Trade"....Bases loaded, solid hit, probable Home Run!

*Jobless Recovery....Home Run!

*The Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party SHUT OUT of the Obama Administration…...Grand Slam Home Run!

*Accelerate the destruction of Public Education...Solid hit!

*Bury next generation under such a debt burden that they will never be able to afford any social or economic programs that will benefit their Working Class....Home Run.

Yes!
Obama is batting a thousand!
He's just NOT playing for OUR side.

19. Alex Gordon.
The Aftermath: While Gordon could eventually become a solid player, he hasn’t lived up to the gaudy expectations that have followed him throughout his brief career. Gordon hit 31 home runs in his first two major league seasons and was expected to break out this year before undergoing hip surgery in April following a slow start. Gordon returned in August, but struggled mightily, and the Royals optioned him to Triple-A.

21. I've long since given up...
.. on Obama. He whipsaws us with flowery words every so often but his actions are consistently poor.

I never thought that there would be someone more "all hat and no cattle" than George Shrub Bush but here he is.
