Action Alert: Tell Congress to Stop the War Machine -Out of Afghanistan!

So far the White House has offered no timetable and no "exit strategy" for Afghanistan and the body count keeps piling with an estimated 1,000 US casualties. We ask, what happened to all the hopeful promises to stop the war machine?

In many ways, nothing has changed. The same war policies that were so offensive during the Bush years seem to be finding new life under the Obama administration. And with that, all progressive and peace loving people should also not working to stop the many wars fought in our name. Write Congress now to let them know that war is not the answer!

1. I am very much against the wars in Iraq, and Af/Pak, but this Slacktivism doesnt do anything

Just as the Million MoveOn VIRTUAL March, these petitions do not do anything except make the participants FEEL better about themselves.

I hate to pee on your parade, but I am a supporter of Piece of the Action's plan to set up a tent city in DC starting next month. They are DOING something. It wont end the war, but at least a few politicians will SEE this protest. Phone calls and emails have the effect of SPAM in the Congressional Inbox

8. I don't disagree entirely.

But, the congressional staff does make a tally of what comes there way. I think the Peace of Action is the best point of pressure right now, but piling on support through petitions and calls does not hurt that effort.
