A President and a Congress unwilling to pass a bill the people want
and unwilling to end a war being fought on 5 fronts that the people do not want.

What are we to make of this? What should be done?

54. Already got mine. Solid, heavy duty stainless steel. More ergonomic ones available too.
I am considering using it for more than gardening, peaceful purposes, of courses.

I'm working on getting ready for the upcoming global depression. Looking at some land out in the sticks, practicing on a few crops, reading up on raising chickens, goats...., cleaning my shotgun, and making sure that my pickup is in working order for the move.

Unfortunately, the Democrats will bear the brunt of the blame, since they allowed themselves to be held hostage to a few pouting conservatives instead of simply ramming real reform through months ago.

Obama squandered the same 2 year opportunity Clinton did and for the same damned reason, neither was willing to fight Congress in the manner that would have gotten a reform of a deadly, dangerous and unfair system through.

Democrats who were on the side of single payer, a public health insurance option, or expanded Medicare from the beginning should start doing damage control NOW, paying for ads in their districts along the lines of "don't blame me, this is what I tried to do."

What they'll do is go on in their haze of entitlement and be handed an ugly surprise on election day as even good Democrats are allowed to be defeated by a thoroughly demoralized voting public.

31. No, both plans left for profit insurance in the catbird seat
and both plans were lousy and doomed to total failure. However, it might be the best we can get while Congress is lousy with conservatives in both parties.

My own plan involves supporting primary challengers to all Blue Dogs, New Democrats, DLCers, and other dead wood that really needs to be replaced by a real Democrat.

Good luck getting any health care over there, Citizen, unless maybe you can prove your consanguinity to the Windsors. Hope you have some titled, landowning relatives on that side, or I think you'll find your old rheumatism goes untreated. We fought a revolution, if you remember, to be rid of that sort of caste system and its Kings and their favorite sport of warfare; and we justly rid ourselves of its jealous monopolizing of rights and privileges for the few. And from that day to this we've staked our honor on saying that we've always stood ready to do it again. That's why we in America have a system today that works for the little guy!

Thatcher and Blair screwed a lot of things up.

But the food has improved, and the HC is excellent.

.. SHOULD be done is fairly simple. The President and the Congress SHOULD act in the best interests of We the People over those of the bloodsucking parasite corporations.

What actually WILL happen is something much less pleasant. There WILL be a revolution in the Nation, hopefully one without violence. Sadly, it's looking more like it may instead be a bloody and destructive one, with each passing day and every betrayal of We the People by those that SHOULD be our strongest advocates. Desperate people do desperate things.

They frame all their proposals as being "what the people want".

For both sides, it's not what the people want.

It's only what SOME of the people want.
