They are just the indispensable scapegoats for "leaders" who will not cross corporate power.

When "friends" feign a spine only when they think the cause has no chance of passing . . . . . . . . . and when the WH will not go to the line for the plan overwhelmingly supported by the people . . . . . . . . . . it becomes clear that the only ones who really need these "enemies" are our phony "friends".

Was Pogo right?

"If Barack Obama’s bill gets changed to exclude the public entities, it is not health insurance reform…it rises and falls on whether the public is allowed to choose Medicare if they’re under 65 or not. If they are allowed to choose Medicare as an option, this bill will be real health care reform...."

3. I wouldn't call Greenwald, or his reporting, histrionic.

4. You could add "Lieberman" and "obstructionist Republicans" to the list.
They serve only as excuses and scapegoats for the "low information voters".

In 2008, the American Voters gave the Democratic Party:
*The White House
*Large majority in the House
*Filibuster proof majority in The Senate
(most importantly) a HUGE MANDATE for CHANGE.

WE did OUR part!
The American People made the "obstructionist Republicans" irrelevant.
Obama/Democrats could have CRUSHED Lieberman anytime wanted to...IF they had wanted to.

The "Centrist" Democratic Party has produced EXACTLY what the "Centrist" Democratic Party WANTED to produce. There ARE no valid excuses.
ALL the rest has been Kabuki Theater.

"By their works, you will know them."

"Without a robust Public Option, there is NO reform".

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans. I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."---Paul Wellstone

6. Didn't Rahm pretty much invent them?
I mean, he didn't totally invent the DLC, or the strategy to run Republicans under the guise of being Democrats, but he was a pioneer in those fields.
