US politician apologises for remarks on anal sex

A New Hampshire politician has apologised for graphic remarks she made about anal sex.

State representative Nancy Elliott made her comments during a judiciary committee hearing last week on proposals to repeal the state's gay marriage law.

She said a parent had told her that fifth grade pupils in the city of Nashua's schools were being taught how to have anal sex.

Ms Elliot said last week: "We're talking about taking the penis of a man and putting it in the rectum of another man and wriggling it around in excrement. And you have to think, would I want that to be done to me?"

School officials said that she had been misinformed and that she had never attempted to report any such teaching.
