I have something nice to say about Al Haig.
He HATED the Bush's. Yes, Haig was a reactionary warmonger, but in fairness he was most likely a man who loved his country and thought he was serving it well. He knew that the Bush's were in essence traitors who were in government to profit, and were selling the countries policies to the Chinese and everyone else.

He ran for President in 1988 in order to try to keep GHWB from winning.

So, from a policy and position standpoint, I have nothing nice to say about Haig. But, he wasn't a traitor, and he knew that the Bush's were and tried to stop them.

1. me too....
He's dead.

Not to take anything away from your comments-- I don't mean to dispute you. It's just that Haig is the kind of person that I like to see gone from the world, which is a tiny bit improved today because of his absence from it.

2. I have no problem with that, I don't like the guy,
But I think he was a man who thought he was doing right by his country (even though he wasn't) as opposed to the Bush/Wall Street crowd.

8. Public record mixed with views of a former boss of mine who once worked for him.
So hard to really provide links. Again, I am not saying I like Haig at all, just that he was an old-school reactionary patriot as opposed to a traitor-thief like the Bush's.

10. No, saying he hated the Bush's is.
Come on, is it really that bad to say one nice thing about somebody?

11. Well, he had something in common with most of us...
WRT hating the Bushies.

He was certainly smarter than the average GOP wingnut, seeing through the Bush smokescreen.

12. Reading comprehension not your strong suit?
Tbhe OP said "something" (that's singular, by the way), and then went on to detail what that "something" was. Sorry that confused you.
