6. Glenn Beck sometimes shows his ignorance of the subject and the
history.

When a country's Government has relinquished Power to Business
this is Fascism. Who has the most power in the country right
now. Financial Industry and Business Industry. Which Party
is the Pro-Business Party? Who is blocking Financial Reform?
The GOP.

It is too bad Beck did not learn this in GOV. 101.

All Parties in a Democracy must guard against Totalitarianism.

Fascism can lead to Nazism on the RIGHT.

Marxism can lead to Maoism, Stalinism on tne Left.

Conservatism taken to its logical extension can become Fascism
which taken further can become Nazism.(Totalitarianism)

Likewise, Liberalism can become Marxism taken further can become
Maoism etc. (Totalitarianism)

Libertarianism taken to its logical extension becomes Anarchy(No
Government and chaos)

12. Totalitarian is such a nonsense word. The system we live under is global, total,
inescapable, and undemocratic. That system has been produced by capitalism. There is no "warding against totalitarianism". Yeah, there's despots in every type of system. In ours we have a bullshit "election" facade that allows a plutocracy to keep us under total control. We have no practical mechanism for changing our system. Now Americans can even by assassinated for "suspected terrorism" as soon as they cross the border.

We're disappearing and torturing hundreds of captives as we speak, using advanced psychological techniques tested in U.S. universities. We've got more than one prison for immigrants who corporations bus to America to work in chicken factories throughout the south.

Totalitarianism is a cold war nonsense word. Any existing system in the world today will be global: capitalism or socialism-- or as Engels put it, socialism or barbarism.

What we've got is barbarism with American Idol and vampire cable shows.

9. Since you asked:

In his speech in Denver today, Senator Michael Bennet noted that Groucho Marx had opined that “Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it, misdiagnosing it, and then misapplying the wrong remedies.”

Sen. Bennet then quipped, "Who knew Mitch McConnell is a Marxist!"
