Unbelievable freepwad stupidity about TX plane crash
"Up close and personal. Methinks this might just be the beginning of “civil disobedience “ against the “halfrican”"

"If they’re now targetting the IRS, I might not be as outraged as I otherwise would."

"I'm guessing that the the guy probably just saw the bottom line on his 1040, decided to cash in his chips and take some Treasury slobs with him, and torched his house in advance to make sure the Infernal Revenue Service couldn't get one thin dime out of him, even posthumously.

"the pilot set his house on fire and then rams his plane into the IRS building

If it's a white male, they'll call it terrorism. If it's a white Republican male they'll blame the tea parties.

If it's a muslim they'll call it an isolated incident with no connection to terrorism whatsoever."

"I think a lot of people would agree that if OBL had blown up a bunch of IRS buildings and killed 5000 IRS agents instead of the World Trade Center most people would consider it a good start."

22. Don't fight it - give in to your true feelings.
If anyone deserves it, they do and remember - they hate all of us.

4. Not a joke. They have unleashed their most extremist members.
They are resorting to suicide attacks against the government.

6. Get a grip. This sounds like some poor schlub who was probably losing his
job, his house, his wife, and his mind, and decided he might as well throw away his life, too.

9. That would be fine if he had decided to commit suicide quietly in his home
This terrorist stole a plane and crashed it into a crowded office building. He was hoping to kill more people than just himself.

18. And this is different somehow from the guy who takes his AK and 9 mm
to the office park and starts shooting until a cop takes him out?

I would be extremely surprised if this is more than a suicidal guy wanting to take a few others with him - from what I've read, he certainly fits the profile.

28. Let's try some facts, shall we?
He had a long history of many tax problems.

He did not steal the plane. That was reported erroneously and has been corrected by CNN and the Austin PD. The plane was registered to him.

He posted a suicide note on his own web site. That note has been posted all over DU in multiple threads and read on air on CNN by Rick Sanchez. He complained about the IRS, the Catholic Church, the Government, Health Care, Bush and Obama, and Arthur Anderson, the accounting firm that was involved in the Enron scandal.

He set his home on fire with his family in it (they were rescued by the neighbors) before he went to the airport.

He flew the plane into the IRS office building. There are 190 people employed in that office, two of whom were injured and transported to a local hospital, one of them was subsequently sent to the Burn Unit. There is one person presently unaccounted for, but it hasn't been possible for authorities to enter those offices yet due to damage and instability of the building.

Wild speculation without a factual basis is NOT helpful, and does nothing to enhance your standing as a serious participant in this discussion. In other words, your posts are diminishing your credibility.

10. agreed, but the sentiment expressed by the Freepers ....
... may inspire other people with issues to take similar action

It is clearly an isolated incident but it may have come from a community which supports such actions.

20. Which makes him a crazy fucker, but not necessarily an extremist with a political
agenda deliberately taking action against the government. Torching his house with the wife and kid still in it before taking off in the plane sounds like a variant of the husbands who commit murder-suicides when they lose their jobs and can't deal with reality. It's fucked up but it's not part of some political conspiracy.

15. The dude is white..
By definition it cannot be terrorism..

They even caught some white folks with literal WMDs in Texas and it didn't even make the national M$M at all..

http://www.csmonitor.com/2003/1229/p02s01-usju.html

Last month, an east Texas man pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon of mass destruction. Inside the home and storage facilities of William Krar, investigators found a sodium-cyanide bomb capable of killing thousands, more than a hundred explosives, half a million rounds of ammunition, dozens of illegal weapons, and a mound of white-supremacist and antigovernment literature.

"Without question, it ranks at the very top of all domestic terrorist arrests in the past 20 years in terms of the lethality of the arsenal," says Daniel Levitas, author of "The Terrorist Next Door: The Militia Movement and the Radical Right."

But outside Tyler, Texas, the case is almost unknown. In the past nine months, there have been two government press releases and a handful of local stories, but no press conference and no coverage in the national newspapers.

I don't recall ever hearing that term applied to little Timmeh McV in the media..

And FWIW, I'm a white male.

He was constantly referred to as a terrorist in the MSM and still is. How you could miss that is beyond me. Well, it's actually not; you're letting your biases lead.

25. He was called the OKC bomber..
Edited on Thu Feb-18-10 02:45 PM by Fumesucker
Not the OKC terrorist.

I note you also ignored the article I linked to which pointed out that in 2003 white folks were caught with chemical weapons strong enough to kill thousands and the M$M totally ignored it.

Edited to add: And here is a thread with Obama's spokesman, Gibbs, calling the Austin plane crash "not terrorism" right on cue.

30. The key words here: "East Texas"
I'm a native Texan (much to the chagrin of more than a handful of fellow DUers) and even I know that too many residents of East Texas are the craziest people you'll ever regret meeting. There's a lot of truth in "King of the Hill"...

As to why it didn't show up in the media? Well, I see by the url it's from 2003. You do know that nothing bad happened in Texas from 2000-2009, right? ;)

11. Yeah, it's a pretty pathetic "manifesto" but then these suicide
manifestos almost always are.

"Everyone is mean to me and my life is hard and there's no such thing as justice. Therefore, I will kill my family and as many innocent people as I can."
