At the end of the first quarter in the Super Bowl, the Saints were behind 10-0

At the end of the first quarter of Obama's first term as President, we are being subjected to a spate of "goodbye cruel world" melodramatic F.U.D. posts from impatient DUers.

Get a grip people. The President hasn't accomplished all of his goals during his first year, but he's accomplished many of them.

In every measure of American life, we are better off now than we were when Bush left office.

....Every measure that matters to people who aren't reactionary racist teabagging nutjobs, that is.

Are we where we need to be? No... but the trajectory is correct now.

"Stick a fork in me, I'm done"... LOL. Some of you people are priceless with your extreme fickleness and lack of backbone and resolve.

We're in a war, people... a war with the radical right. If you're going to take your ball and go home as soon as things get a little tough, then get the hell out of the foxhole. The rest of us intend on winning this war and you're more of a hindrance than a help.

2. It's a FUD attack... a lot of it coordinated
..by people pretending to be progressives.

the FUD attacks always coincide with times that Obama starts to go back up in the polls.

3. Obama Had a Better First Year Than Clinton Did
Clinton's was an unmitigated disaster -- don't ask, don't tell, rejected nominees, eventually a health bill that was defeated and left most people confused. But he recovered -- he earned the nickname "the comeback kid."

I think Obama will learn, too. I just worry that he's his own worst enemy.

6. Clinton wasn't an unmitigated disaster but his admin screwed up bad.
We were better off with Clinton than if Bush I or if Reagan had been in office.

Obama needs to do a better job and take the leadership away from Pelosi and Reid since they don't want to lead.

I wonder how many from the Clinton admin are in top level positions of the Obama admin? That shouldn't be.

12. 'The last thing he said to me, "Doc," he said, "some time when the crew is up against it,
... and the breaks are beating the boys, tell them to get out there and give it all they got and win just one for the Zipper. I don't know where I'll be then, Doc," he said, "but I won't smell too good, that's for sure."'

Excuse me doc, I got a plane to land!

13. no we aren't better off in every measure
I am not saying it is Obama's fault but both unemployment and the deficit are higher than when Bush left office. Unfortunately, Obama will get blamed if the unemployment rate isn't lowered.

15. We're in a war with the radical centrists ..
The center is waaaaaay too far to the right, it's been dragged that way for thirty years and it would take another thirty years to get back to where we were when Reagan took office.

And that's not going to happen.
