Limbo may be gone, but Tenet better hope the pope does away with Hell, too
Edited on Fri Apr-27-07 06:29 PM by SoCalDem
Shame on this pathetic excuse of a catholic. All we heard about for months..hell..years was how "devout" he is..what a wonderful, caring man he is..how smart he is..how fair he is..

and yet..

He close silence..Silence like this is not "golden" ..It's DEADLY.

He knew the whole war was a scam.. he knew it BEFORE it started.

He was willing to remain "on the team", and keep his trap shut.

Did he speak up for Powell or offer to team up with him in order to inject some sense into the "planning"? Nope.. He waved buh-bye as Colin finally gathered up his shredded reputation and slithered away into the sunset.

Did he speak up before the '04 election, when Georgie was in a bit of a tenuous position, and when a word from him could have saved many lives in Iraq? Nope.

Did he refuse the "medal of freedom"? Nope he bowed his head to george and let him slip that noose over his head..and he did it cheerfully.

Did he speak "on the record" to reporters and "come clean" after he left office? Nope.. he plumped up his journal and gathered his notes so he could CASH IN on all that blood shed because HE kept his mouth shut.

The right loves to trot out the old propaganda posters that remind us about "loose lips", but I'm sure there are thousands of families here, and hundreds of thousands of families THERE, who wish Tenet had looser lips...and sooner. His CLOSED mouth (and mind) killed a lot of innocent people... People who did not deserve the deaths they got.

So, Georgie T, a mea culpa manifesto at this late date is not gonna wipe that sin right outta your soul, buddy.

You CHOSE to hold those facts close to your vest because you have all those children to pay for.. a lot of college tuition..a lot of orthodontia, all those big SUVs to cart the little darlings around in..that big house to hold all their stuff..and a wife who no doubt likes the "good life". It just was not worth the personal risk, to tell the truth when it mattered... was it?

Limbo may be gone, but in your faith, I'm sure Hell's still there, so don't fret.. I have a feeling that even as you are out prostituting yourself, trying to sell that tell-all book of yours, ole Satan is readying your very own cubby, somewhere in hell.. and if I'm not mistaken, George T is very near the cubby that says "George W".. It's alphabetical, don't-cha-know?

2. Criminals are not allowed the "fruits" of books about their crimes, but
slithery "newspeople" and even slimier politicians do it all the time..

3. Tenet turned *only*
because Bushco turned on him. If Dubya knew how to keep a deal, we wouldn't be hearing from the self-centered prick.
George Tenet is not going to let himself become the fall guy for the September 11 intelligence failures, according to a former intelligence officer and a source friendly to Mr. Tenet.

...

Mr. Tenet's decision to defend himself against the charges in the report poses a potential crisis for the White House. According to a former clandestine services officer, theformerCIAdirector turned down a publisher's $4.5 million book offer because he didn't want to embarrass the White House by rehashing the failure to prevent September 11 and the flawed intelligence on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. Mr. Tenet, according to a knowledgeable source, had a "wink and a nod" understanding with the White House that he wouldn't be scapegoated for intelligence failings. The deal, one source says, was sealed with the award of the Presidential Freedom Medal.

Now that deal may be off. Mr. Tenet's rebuttal to the report is detailed and explicit. In defending his integrity as CIA director, Mr. Tenet treads perilously close to affirming the account of Richard Clarke, the former NSC terrorism official whose public disclosure of the Bush administration's delay in adopting a strategy against al Qaeda stirred controversy last summer.

6. What do you mean Limbo's gone?
I spent a lot of time in Catholic school saying these little one-line prayers to reduce my Limbo sentence and now you tell me it was all a waste of time?

Fuck!

13. Well thank heavens, so to speak
I guess Limbo is by definition already off-shore, so they can't use that one. Maybe it's where all the H-1B visa holders go when corporate America uses them up and they die from overwork. They're up there now, just waiting to get admitted to capitalist nirvana, a Ken Lay Production.

I'm sure he rationalized it away.. He'd need a rosary the size of the equator to make it thru this penance

Edited on Fri Apr-27-07 10:28 PM by SoCalDem
and all democrats who dared to speak up, were labeled as traitors. I suspect that most of the people in congress thought that since we were the biggest, baddest military, things would somehow work out...unitl the didn't..and by then it was too late for them to step up, since they had a part in it.

The guys in charge were not our guys though:(

It's like the kid who drives his friend to the 7-11.. he may know that the friend has no money, but when the friend comes running out and says DRIVE!, he's now implicated in the robbery that just happened, even if he did not plan it or actively participate in it.
