And in my judgment, that would put a kid in harm's way, more so than he or she already is. I really think it's a mistake for Congress to try to tell generals, our military experts, how to conduct a war. "


This occupation has 'evolved the way it has' because of Bush's insistence on forcing troops into the middle of Iraq's civil war, putting even more soldiers in harm's way, despite the clear intention of Congress and the American people that he end his bloody occupation. In case he's forgotten, Bush is the nation's most prominent "politician" who replaced generals who disagreed with what he was telling them with ones who tell him what he wants to hear. He's the one making all of the 'military determinations' that our troops should stay in Iraq defending the Maliki regime.

I'm envisioning what it's like for our troops to be subject to repeated deployments from a president who is completely disregarding the will of the majority of Americans that he withdraw from Iraq as he presses these soldiers forward.
