Quit using the troops as pawns and backdrops. Sign the emergency funding bill that is only necessary because of your war and your poor planning. On edit: I take that back, half-way anyway. The last sentence in the petition statement IS kind of ambiguous:

When the president vetoes funding for the troops, he's the only one responsible for blocking the resources they need. Mr. Bush you should not veto the Supplemental Appropriations bill. Your threats to veto it indicate to me that you have taken the troops hostage and if the United States Congress doesn't give you what you want, in other words, meet your demands - in this case meaning you want all the money and none of the accountability - then the US troops get it! That is my perspective of YOUR behavior. I support the US Congress and if you dare veto this bill the responsibility will be yours...not theirs. Do the right thing for once and sign the bill.

Haven't read the replies yet but the ignoramus-in-chief won't heed it.....it's his way or the highway. I see this morning on the news that * is open to a meeting with the Dems next Wednesday to further discuss the matter. I don't know about you, but I think nothing gets exchanged in meetings like this proposed one. It just another opportunity to show the people how hard the president works (hard work)to hear the representatives of the people. And, when nothing is resolved, the Dems get blamed for the failure.

The few times either she or I have mentioned this, we're always told, "Well, I wrote and/or called, but saw no need to post."

So, here is a POPULAR issue, and it gets lots of posts.

Could someone PLEASE be kind enough to really be honest, and say what is the difference, and why POVERTY doesn't get the responses?
