Putting up a "number of donations" as opposed to "dollars donated" makes me less likely to donate let alone donate in large amounts.

I gave a few dollars last year and I'd certainly like to give again. A better meter will go a long way. ;)

5. We each contribute what we can. The Amount only matters to the Bill Collectors,
Running a site this big can get expensive.

6. 1000 donations can be $1 per person. Setting dollar amount goals makes people open their wallets.

18. There's only one thing I ever really wonder about when I donate...
and that is, how do they figure what constitutes a single donation that will help move the bar over toward the goal line.

Is it per donation, no matter how much or how little?

Or is it for each $5 or $10 (or whatever amount)?

I wonder that because if I think the bar will get to the goal faster, I'll take a larger amount and split it up into lesser parts. Say, $25 for example, and make it five donations of $5 each. As opposed to sending the whole amount at one time and only having it count as one single donation.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I want to maximize the impact of whatever I donate...help DU reach its goal faster.

:)
