Another Eye-Opening Senate Committee Hearing on our Fiscal Future
Edited on Sat Feb-13-10 05:32 PM by Mike 03
Here is the link to the (latest) Senate Budget Committee hearing held on Friday. Anyone who found the CBO report or subsequent hearings of interest will find this hearing of great interest.

http://www.c-span.org/Watch/Media/2010/02/11/HP/A/29454/Senate+Budget+Cmte+Hearing+on+Fiscal+Sustainability.aspx

These panelists were allowed to suggest specific cuts, and this is more terrifying than THE HILLS HAVE EYES. We are going to have raise taxes on somebody, and cut spending on somebody (hopefully defense, IMO), possibly raise the retirement age (which I oppose).

This is serious stuff.

If any of you watched this, or watch it, I would love to hear what you think of this. Nobody I know is interested in these hearings about our fiscal situation! I can't find anyone to discuss this with.

We simply have to deal with this. This is NOT something Obama gave us, but a relic from the prior eight years.

But we need to do something, seriously.

5. " raise the retirement age" - i.e. ROB SOCIAL SECURITY
These fuckers are pathetic. If we are broke, then start with the 1000 or so foreign military bases, the useless fleets, the ridiculous armory all set for a WWII style land war in europe and asia, an air force 10x the size of everyone else's. If we are broke unrepeal the fucking estate tax. Reset income taxes to 1999. Institute a federal VAT with a 20K floor per individual. No, instead these fuckers think the proper way to pay the bills is to tell senior citizens to work until they are FUCKING 70. Fuck them. Gotta revolution?
