What's worse than health care overhaul? No changes

WASHINGTON (AP) - What could be worse than health care overhaul? No health care overhaul.

It's anybody's guess whether President Barack Obama's health remake will survive in Congress.

But there's no doubting the consequences if lawmakers fail to address the problems of costs, coverage and quality: surging insurance premiums, more working families without coverage, bigger out-of-pocket bills, a Medicare prescription gap that grows wider and deeper, and government programs that pay when people get sick but do little to keep them healthy.

"They complained, 'If you pass this bill, prices will go up,'" said Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., who helped shape the Senate Democrats' bill. "Well, you don't pass it, and prices will still go up."

5. You are right that change doesn't necessarily mean for the better
But I am really angry with the tea baggers for making it so hard for me to complain to insurance companies who take advantage of me and others. It used to be that when I argued my case, I had more clout because the insurance reps knew that Congress could make changes to protect consumers like me. Now the insurance reps know that all they have to do is send tea baggers to Washington to scream "Down with the government." How stupid can the teabaggers be to trust the insurance companies put the interest of consumers ahead of their own bottom line profit?

2. What would be worse is forcing the Senate plan through as is.
It would kill the middle, poor and working class. It would hit those in unions particularly hard.

Not all change is automatically good, even when it originates with a Democrat. Personally I think that they need to kill this bill and run through one that they should have done in the first place, with a strong public option, that taxes the rich and it doesn't infringe on women's choice.

3. Yep - Say Hello to the 40% Annual Increase in Premiums
Health care for the Wealthy Elite only - the rest of you can DIE in the Waiting room

and the RATpubliCONs would STILL be touting it as the "Best Health Care in the World"
