SACRAMENTO, Calif. --
Americans are happy for the most part with the way President Barack Obama is handling national security, but they are displeased with the way he is dealing with the nation's ongoing economic problems, according to a new poll.
A Franklin and Marshall College poll, conducted in partnership with Hearst Television, found that Obama's approval rating among voters is 57 percent when it comes to the war in Afghanistan and 52 percent for the nation's overall security.
But just 45 percent of voters approve of the way the president is addressing the economy.
One in three voters said the nation is heading in the right direction, while 59 percent said the nation is going in the wrong direction.
