Bill Maher Tells Obama To Pass HCR-Tweak It- & Tell Beck To Shove His Tea Bag Up His Ass
Edited on Fri Feb-12-10 02:38 PM by kpete

"I'd like to see results," said Maher. "I still don't see him completely backing what a lot of us would like him to back, with the full force of his office."

Obama's difficulties with health care reform in Congress remain a sore spot for Maher. "I don't know why he doesn't just demand that the House pass the Senate bill, and then tweak it in reconciliation and tell Glenn Beck to shove his tea bag up his a**. Could he do that?"

In fact, Maher thinks Obama needs to stop worrying about Republican support entirely. "I've been trying to tell the president over and over again about the right wing: They're just not that into you. He's the wrong party, the wrong age, the wrong color and no matter how much he reaches out, they're just never going to vote for him."

As for the upcoming season of "Real Time," he expects to pay plenty of attention to newly elected Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.).

5. The White House has been
pressing the House to pass the senate bill which is what should have been done already. Once Scott Brown won MA the house should have passed the senate bill before the state on the union so we could focus solely on jobs. They refused and are holding out for a reconciliation fix in the senate. As always democrats are there own worst enemies. No major social legislation is perfect when passed in its original form. But once passed it can be improved on over time. Instead of us having healthcare already passed and achieved we still have this ridiculous back and forth between the house and senate with democrats complaining, whining and fighting among themselves. If democrats think the beating we took in 1994 was bad they will be looking at far worst in November if they don't get healthcare reform done. There is no excuse for this not already being done and at the rate they are going it may not happen in 2010.
