for giving me hearts and I <3 you back as I have not been happy at all recently.

I am facing a choice between quitting my job or continuing to work an unsafe unhealthy environment (unhealthy for me and for those who are the customers). I may be able to arrange a lay-off so, hopefully, when the economy picks back up I will resume working under better conditions, but do not know if it is possible.

It has been an immensely stressful couple weeks for me and I REALLY appreciate the hearts. I got to pass on a couple to people I also appreciate who didn't have any, so thank you again.

1. I know a thing or two about toxic work environments.
That's why I took family/personal leave - in part, because I couldn't take doing a job that was literally killing me. It hasn't been easy, but it was the right decision for me.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you discern your next move. Best wishes to you.

2. I'm not much of a Valentine's Day person.
When you're single, the relentless commercialization makes you feel like a complete loser -- if you were worthy, the love of your life would be giving you flowers and chocolates and diamonds.

But here on DU, strangers (scratch that, make that anonymous friends) make you feel special. This is my second favorite season of the year at DU, just after primary election season!
