Is the internet very slow the last couple of days or is it my computer? I'm thinking that with all
the kids out of school and so many people at home it may be that the whole internet is very slow but thought I'd ask.

6. I would think it's dependent on what you are accessing.
DU has been fine for me -- but Facebook is constipated. Everyone at home is trying to make connections through FB, I guess.

7. The internet tubes are full of blowing snow,
and Obama's workers are slow blowing them out. This would be no problem if George was still Prez.

;)

11. Thanks. I test occasioally and it's always slower than what I'm paying for. CenturyTel is not a very
good provider but it is the only one I can get.

14. comcast bought my local company.
i wouldn't have become a customer voluntarily. my internet speed is generally good, though.

they made me replace my generation 1 cable modem from 2001. it was a pain in the ass to get the new one up and running, but it has improved the speed.

13. Mine is definitely slower. I figured it's because the entire East Coast is home in its jammies ...
... in front of the computer.

15. Internet is speedy as usual on Verizon's FiOS
Edited on Thu Feb-11-10 01:06 PM by jtrockville
The fiber-optics network isn't as hampered by the "neighborhood rush hour" as a cable network is.

16. It is slow. Everybody has been stuck at home.
Some sites are faster than others. It depends on the fat pipes you have to use to reach the site.

17.  My internet has been cutting out more than usual
I have no clue why. We have had really bad weather, but not today, for example, and it has been cutting in and out badly. No clue as to why.

19. A good way to speed the Internet up is to
use Game Booster. It shuts down services running on your computer that you don't need to surf the Internet, and it's free.
