Condoleezza Rice: History will judge Bush well (again...)
Rice says history will better judge George W. Bush
Former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice defended President George W. Bush’s foreign relations legacy during a stop in Sarasota this morning, saying he tackled difficult issues that will take time to for many to fully appreciate.
“History’s judgment and today’s headlines are rarely the same,”
Rice said in an interview just before taking the stage at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.

Rice spoke of Bush’s advocacy for democracies in the Middle East and for all people to live in freedom as efforts that will be better appreciated in time.

Rice said under Bush’s leadership America was not attacked again after Sept. 11, despite terrorist efforts to do so. “President Bush will be remembered as someone who made the country safer,” Rice said.

I know, right? And I thought to myself this sounded damn familiar. Then I realized, it was, from 2007:
Rice: History will rate Bush well
NEW YORK - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says history will remember President Bush's foreign policy favorably despite current troubles in Iraq, Iran, North Korea and the Middle East "History's judgment is rarely the same as today's headlines," she said Friday in an interview with The Associated Press....

I mean, for what she's charging, couldn't she write a new line after all this time? :D

3. Nice try but intentions aren't good enough
Wilson probably limped along in history about the longest on "good intentions". I suspect Bush won't fare as well. They failed at virtually everything they did, and have left a mess that will out last the Obama administration (especially considering how slowly they are moving on some of it).

6. Well, about as well as it will judge Condi.
Meanwhile, forget history: I want to see an international war-crimes tribunal judge them and their co-conspirators.
