11. Wish I could too

but my husband, Chuck, is in a nursing home--perhaps permanently--and they took all his SSD to pay for it. We lost 1/3 of our income. That leaves me with trying to not only keep our house so I don't have to part with our cats (which would absolutely crush me--they're our kids), but also paying for all his other expenses at the home.

I really, really miss him and hope he can come home soon. :cry: :cry:

I'm usually not so whiney, but I just got done paying all the February bills and I have $15 until next week. Arggh. This is usually my attitude, :nopity: but it's a Monday and it's February in Michigan.

We'll get through it, though. A big snowstorm is coming too--whoopee! Maybe the university I work at will shut down on Wednesday. Fat chance--we NEVER close!

I lived in Michigan while going to grad school in K'zoo. It can be rough too, so hang in there. I remember when that 50 cents for a McDonald's cup of coffee was the biggest treat in the world, helping me make the drive from K'zoo to South Haven. so I have been there and I know. Find (and rely on) good friends, and if you can get assistance for food or whatever, now's the time.

Did you go to WMU? I live in Grand Rapids and work at GVSU. That drive from Kazoo to South Haven is miserable when lake effect kicks in!

married to the ex, living on a sailboat, even in the winter. It was an adventure, and when I tell folks here in WI about the lake effect snow, driving with snow up to your axles, they don't really believe it!
