CSU student draws fire for suggesting 'Cowboys vs. Indians' theme

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - A Colorado State University student has accidentally sparked a firestorm of controversy by encouraging fans to wear Native American war paint to the men's home basketball game this weekend.

CSU sophomore Ben Margolit posted the message on his Facebook page, asking CSU fans to dress like American Indians to watch the team play the Wyoming Cowboys on Saturday.

Critics call the posting racist and degrading to Native Americans.

School administrators issued a statement condemning Margolit's posting and scheduled a meeting for Friday to discuss the incident with students.

That's never happened before in the history of the world. Looks like we'd better convene a meeting of the full student body to discuss this! Words need to be said. Brows must be furrowed. Faces should be prepared for full frowny mode.

I must say that I am glad that this instantaneous transmission for dumb ideas wasn't around during my formative, impressionable years.

4. One of the best superbowl commercials ever

I think it was an American Express commercial with Tom Landry in it. And the Redskin defensive line came up and surrounded him. Don't remember the dialog, but it was a funny commercial. Of course, it was back in the 80's.

8. I remember that spot. It was part of the "Do You Know Me?" campaign

created by Ogilvy & Mather in New York. It featured other near celebrities (at the time) like Jim Henson, Stephen King and Mel Blanc.

But was it worth making a BFD out of it and having a meeting to discuss it?
