Judge holds Young in contempt of court


RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- A judge in North Carolina Friday said Andrew Young, a former aide to ex-U.S. Sen. John Edwards, is in contempt of court for not turning over a sex tape.

Appearing in a Chatham County courtroom, Young and his wife, Cheri, were found in contempt of court for failing to provide the court with a sex tape allegedly featuring Edwards and his mistress, Rielle Hunter, The (Raleigh) News & Observer said.

Young and his wife were in court in response to Hunter's claim seeking the return of the video.

The presiding judge in the case said Young and his wife would remain in contempt of court until a deadline next Wednesday for the return of the video, which reportedly is being kept in an Atlanta safety deposit box.

Meanwhile, "Inside Edition" reported Edwards and Hunter agreed to share joint custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Frances Quinn Hunter.

Hunter's sister, Roxanne Marshall, told the TV program exclusively that her sister is still hopeful to reunite romantically with Edwards in the future.

"Oh yes, she still loves him and she's sure they'll be together one day," Marshall said.
