WHY YOU SHOULD MOVE YOUR MONEY NOW
A story from the trenches of the class war

Early last year I could see the shit approaching the fan in a macro-economic sort of way. I could see work slowing down and my hold on gainful employment becoming increasingly tenuous. I could see the storm clouds on the horizon and I started living much more frugally and tried to stash a few dollars away for the rainy day that was surely coming.

In July, I was laid off but I felt I had done pretty much everything I could do to prepare.

I managed to pay all the bills in full and on time for months but, by January of this year, I had no more rabbits to pull out of my hat. I have a few loans from my credit union, a car loan and my one and only Visa card (still at 7.9% by the way) and I simply could not make the payments this month. With dread in my heart and a knot in my stomach, I called them up and explained my situation. Would you care to guess what they told me? They told me “WHY DON’T YOU SKIP THE PAYMENTS FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS and if you are still out of work in April, call us and we’ll work it out. I was so surprised, so blown away that I almost cried. Can you imagine what that conversation would be like if I had been dealing with Shitty Bank or Bank of fuck you America?

I’m not saying that every credit union or community bank would be this gracious but I do know, with every fiber of my being that I wouldn’t get that kind of treatment from one of the “bailout boys”. Hell, I’m pretty sure Bank of fuck you America would have the repo man looking for my truck while they were raising my interest rates to double didgets and assessing fees and more fees on the fees.

Just had to share.
