We have this thing called Wing Bowl which is an eating contest which has metamorphosed into the most repulsive, misogynistic, grotesque spectacle over the last 18 years...it's held at the Wachovia Center to the screaming audience of 20 THOUSAND trashy morans...the special guest this year is....


Snooki of Jersey Shore ..

Other guests include porno queens and 'scantily clad' "Wingettes"...just use your imagination...and double it.

I is the busiest day of the year for "Gentleman's Clubs" and Beer Distributors, and Bars...outshines the Mummers Parade by 30 to 1 in terms of drunks and mayhem afterwards.

We just duck and cover for the day...

Is there something wrong with people having fun and bars, strip clubs and alcohol distributors and the people that work at them making good money for a change?

I work Wing Bowl almost every year. This is the first year for a long time that I won't get to, and seeing as business has been thoroughly CRAP for the past year or two it would be really great if I could work it this year too so I can get the rent paid on time this month.

I work in Center City and the number of women molested on the street, beer bottles thrown thru windows, drunk drivers, and general stupidity is OFF THE CHARTS. A wife of a policeman is an employee of mine and every year she has to get him ready for the onslaught...

If you think that 20000 people drunk in the middle of the day who attended and maybe another 30000 who were in the parking lot 'tailgating' and then inflicting their Bacchanalia on everyone else is OK, then that's fine. These things are not without repercussions.

I don't preach morality...I resent drunken stupidity...

Yeah, you were preaching morality in your OP since you brought up the porn stars and the strip clubs and didn't say a word about drunken stupidity. Maybe you should read your OP again since everything about it scorned the people that make money off this event every year - specifically singling out those naughty "wimmins" - while not saying a single thing about the drunken louts that attend and do criminal mischief, and not a word about the city allowing this event without adequate protection.

No, you pissed on people that make money from it once a year while we put up with the kind of repercussions you described and FAR worse EVERY time we go to work and make PEANUTS.

I moved from Philly in 1996, long before it became the Roman Spectacle that it is now. An early morning bacchinal, I'll have to make sure I'm in town one of these years to catch one.
