Pure bigotry and homophobia

Much of that sort of thinking and half the world will be eligible for asylum. Many more deserving categories across the world (at least in the liberal mind, and Cameron is probably a lib in many ways).

UK Conservatives - even the much-maligned Thatcher - were and are nowhere near as reactionary as the Republicans even prior to the Teabagger nuttery schism.
