If Rahm Goes - Then Who?.....
I see a lot of posts here that say that Rahm should leave the WH - either by choice or otherwise. I'm curious. If Rahm leaves or is asked to leave the WH - who would take his place - who would be more acceptable?

Or they can all leave together, as long as they go.

2. I agree with Thom Hartmann on this one
Rahm should resign and Howard Dean should take his place.

3. I'd trust Howard Dean with anything but I wouldn't wish that job on him.

5. I think Thom was looking at what it would symbolize as much as Dr. Dean's abilities themselves
namely it would be an unmistakable move towards an actual Democratic administration, as opposed to the Clinton retread that we all thought we were avoiding when Hillary lost the primary.

9. Howard Dean could handle it.
Dean would be a much better support for Obama than Emmanuel is.

Obama needs his top aide to be more liberal than he (Obama) is. The aide should be the stick and Obama the carrot in dealing with people.

The aide should be the tough guy, the bad cop, and Obama should be the compromiser, the good cop.

That would give Obama the room to negotiate. Obama negotiates toward those who oppose him. So he needs someone who pulls him away from the opposition at his (Obama's) side. That would give Obama more balance and more strength in his negotiations.

Dean would be good. And I think that Dean is actually a fiscal conservative, so Dean could support Obama in that respect also.

Right now the administration leans too far to the right -- too far toward the opposition. It is out of balance especially compared to its base and the Democratic Party and the American people in general.

I say this based on the results of a telephone conference that my Congressman held with his constituents tonight. He polled those who called in on a couple of issues -- and generally people are coming down to the left of the Obama administration. It isn't just me.

Only a minority of people on the call wanted to see the Senate bill passed. A large majority (huge in fact) want to the banks to pay the charge that Obama has proposed.

12. It doesn't look like Obama is very concerned with the conservatism
of his administration. He seems to be fine with it.

4. Howard Dean should have a full cabinet position, though CoS would be a fantastic improvement.

Are you like this to people in actual life?
Are you bitter? Lonely?
Really, what is your problem?

25. Russ Feingold would likely HATE that job - remember he voted to filibuster the budget!
In addition, he is up for re-election in WI and if he left, we would likely lose the seat.

Think of everything he did that you like, most are cases of willing to stand for what he believes in - even if it means standing alone.

28. I wouldn't want him to take the job, he's great where he is. My point was there are many people
out there who would be better for the job than what we have now.

16. Rahm works for Obama. Obama is in charge, not Rahm. Rahm is simply the designated 'bad guy'.
Replacing Rahm would change nothing.

17. Mind if I ask a question??
Regarding Health Care: Who in the White House was primarily responsible for the 'negotating positions' taken during the debate?

I wondered if that was primarily a Rahm recommendation...the lets make a deal mentality..

18. Plenty of better choices are available, preferably
someone not tied to DLC ideology. But I know they own this party, that is why so any of them call us names and talk down to us. This past year has become the last they will do so with me as far as I'm concerned. I'll show then the same respect they have shown me and others of similar mind. None.
